Baltazar Aroso is an Architect, Researcher, and Entrepreneur whose work spans the fields of architecture, urbanism, real estate management, and theoretical research. He holds a degree in Architecture from Lusíada University of Porto and a Postgraduate Diploma in Real Estate Management from EGP – Porto Business School, University of Porto. He subsequently pursued doctoral studies at the University of Valladolid, where his research focused on the relationship between architecture, image, and representation, notably through the works “Reflections on the Importance of Image in Architecture” and “The Epidermal Metamorphosis of Architecture”, under the supervision of Professor Miguel Ángel de la Iglesia.
With a professional career that began in 1982, he collaborated with several architects and engineers, acquiring extensive experience in the design, coordination, and management of architectural and urban development projects. In 1994, he founded URBIMAGEM, where he serves as Executive Director, and in 2004 he established B(A)ª – Baltazar Aroso Architects, where he currently acts as Coordinator and Executive Director. In 2012, he also co-founded Original Spark – Digital Media, expanding his professional activities into the fields of communication and digital content.
His career is distinguished by the convergence of professional practice, academic research, and entrepreneurial vision, fostering an ongoing reflection on architecture as a cultural expression, a tool for territorial transformation, and a medium of communication in contemporary society.
